The Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Annual Dinner, held February 21, 2013,

honored Steve Finzel with the 2013 Harold Buschkopf Award

The Harold Buschkopf Award is presented annually and awarded to community members who have made significant contributions to the quality of life in the greater Woodstock area whether or not that contribution has directly impacted the Chamber of Commerce.

They have provided inspiration that will have also motivated other people to become involved in efforts to assist the community. It is necessary that the recipient’s generosity go beyond that of just providing funds for programs.

Not only is this well deserved recognition for Steve and the bank, but the criteria that this award represents is indicative of the culture that has been set by Steve and the senior management team.

Todd Kinker also received special recognition as outgoing president of the Chamber board

The members of the membership committee each received the Volunteer of the Year award.

The membership committee consists of Butch Schnulle, Jon Wenzel, Kathy Rauch, Todd Kinker,

Jennifer Banker-Grogg, Donna Besler, Phyllis Close and Lynn Fiala (not pictured)

                                                                                        "Love to Read Week"

Every year since 1991, District 200 has sponsored "Love to Read Week" to promote literacy and the importance of reading as a lifelong activity to students. Volunteers from the community go into kindergarten, elementary and middle school classrooms to read a favorite book or excerpt with students and share how they use reading in their daily lives.
